Change is Hard. But You. CAN. Do It.

I think this is important to address and if you’re unhappy with where you’re currently at, I invite you to look at this with an open mind.

There are a few statements that come up pretty often in conversations I have with people…

“I just wish I had a different body type, it’s impossible for me to lose weight”

“But it’s just so  e a s y for you, I wish that I could do that”

“I don’t have the time to dedicate to making those changes”

Let me be real with you, my days are busy, can be stressful and it takes a TON of work to maintain what I have. I strongly urge you to avoid using statements like this without knowing what another person has been through or is going through right now. Often times it is much more difficult than you think. I am not posting this to get sympathy from anyone as what I know to be true is that the life I have chosen to create for myself is one that I love and would not change for the world. I strongly believe that if sharing this, then it is 100% worth it.

I don’t just float on through life never thinking about how to maintain what I have or never feel uncomfortable in my own skin. It takes a lot of hard work and it takes making a lot HARD choices and saying no often and to be quite honest can make you feel excluded or alone if you aren’t surrounding yourself with the right people.

Most days I walk at least 5km, workout, get 8 hours of sleep (or at least in bed for 8 hours), eat healthy at least 80-90% of the time, spend time to focus on myself to recharge, connect with loved ones and also often work long days on top of that doing what I love. Because I CHOSE to prioritize those things in my life.

I know what you’re thinking… “well I don’t have the time to do that” OR “I have tried but nothing works”.

How you choose to spend your day is entirely up to you. You make the choice to skip your morning workout… to stay up too late watching Netflix or scrolling the gram… to stop at that fast food restaurant because it’s  e a s i e r or comfortable. Believe me, I get it, this shit is hard. Things happen that are out of our control but that doesn’t give us an excuse to not change something. In order to make change you need to get uncomfortable and maybe reading this is doing exactly that and is that first little kick in the pants that you need.

Maybe you feel like you have tried everything, my question to you is have you done it consistently for at least 3 months?.. And I mean  r e a l l y consistently. Have you taken the time to assess and write down what you’re spending your time on? I bet if you do that you would be able to find AT LEAST 30 minutes of time that you could use to take ONE more action towards making a change. Or maybe you’ve never asked anyone for help with what you’re struggling with.. And maybe now is the time to change that and ask for help.

In the words of Marie Forleo, “Everything is Figureoutable”.

Or if you need a more aggressive nudge.. In the words of Mark Manson, “Don’t just sit there. Do something. The answers will follow.”

If there’s one thing I know to be true it’s that you can choose differently. Whether that’s a big change like switching careers, leaving a bad relationship or something smaller like committing to going for a walk with your family once a week, drinking more water or spending less time around people that cause you stress. They all matter, regardless of how “big” or “small” and YOU have the choice to do that and NO ONE can take that away from you.

Take that step, reach out to that person, do ONE thing today to create some forward momentum. You might surprise yourself and learn something new about yourself along the way. You can always reach out to me and if I feel like I’m unable to help you, I will direct you to someone who I truly believe can. Email me anytime at morganrozon@gmail.com.
